Benevolence Transitional Housing Inc.
Empathy in Action: Leading with Love, Living with Purpose.
Our Mission

Benevolence Transitional Housing, Inc. empowers unhoused young adults ages 17 to 23 in Allegheny County through holistic, trauma‑informed housing and community support. We strengthen mind, body, and spirit to help youth break cycles of poverty and build stable, self‑sufficient, and fulfilling lives.
About Our Organization

At the heart of Benevolence is a belief that transformation begins with love, community and the utilization of evidence-based practices. Founded by criminal justice professional Deborah Mosley, the organization takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to transitional housing, blending stable shelter with individualized case management, mentorship, financial literacy, education support, employment assistance, mental health support, and life skills training.
Benevolence is more than housing—it’s a movement. We’re building a community where love leads, empathy is our superpower, and healing becomes the foundation for lasting change. We aim to transform the systems that have missed the mark with our youth by lifting up their strengths, honoring their humanity, and restoring their hope.
